New Orleans Bar Card (Official ATC Responsible Vendor Permit)
Working the French Quarter or Mardi Gras? Get Legal Tonight.
If you are serving alcohol or selling tobacco in New Orleans, you need your “Bar Card” immediately. Under Louisiana law, all bartenders, servers, bouncers, and security staff must hold a valid Responsible Vendor (RV) Permit within 45 days of hire.
Is this the official permit?
Yes. ACE Food Handler is a state-licensed provider approved by the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC). Our Provider Number is RV.P.8736-P. This is the exact same permit offered by other schools for $25—we just sell it for $9.00 because we believe in fair pricing for industry workers.
Valid for All New Orleans Parishes
There is no specific “City of New Orleans” alcohol permit anymore; the State ATC permit covers everything. Your ACE certificate is valid for:
- Orleans Parish: French Quarter, CBD, Uptown, Mid-City.
- Jefferson Parish: Metairie, Kenner, Gretna.
- St. Tammany Parish: Slidell, Covington, Mandeville.
- Major Events: Valid for all Mardi Gras krewes, Jazz Fest vendors, and Superdome staff.
How to Get Your Bar Card Fast
- Sign Up ($9.00): No hidden fees. Includes the course and the exam.
- Watch on Your Phone: The course is mobile-friendly. Do it on the streetcar or before your shift.
- Pass the Exam: Unlimited retakes are included for free.
