How do I get my California Food Handler Card?
If you work at a restaurant, bar that serves food, public school, college, food court, food truck or any other place that serves or handles food in California you are requied to take an ANSI Accredited Food Handling Course. California SB 303 requires any one handling food and hired after June 1, 2011, to get a food handler card within 30 days of his/her date of hire. All food handlers must maintain a current food handling card for the duration of his/her time as a food handler in the State of California. The counties of Riverside and San Bernardino have their own rules and you must take a course approved by those jurisdictions.
